Steam cleaners work by heating water above boiling point and turning it to vapour much more quickly. The steam is then held inside a vacuum sealed drum or container which pressurises it. The steam is then released via a hose to a nozzle. The pressurised steam is used to blow a variety of materials and can remove the most stubborn dirt and mould. The heat of the steam eliminates bacteria and dust mites that other methods of cleaning leave behind. Steam cleaners do not use any detergents or chemicals in the cleaning process which makes them environmentally safe. Steam cannot be used on all surfaces or materials and it is important to read all care instructions before steam cleaning an item.
